HIV/AIDS Education Curriculum at Diversity University

There are two locations at Diversity University that contain objects for AIDS education - the Social Work Lobby (#639) ahe AIDS Services Foyer (#1636). You should probably begin in he Social Work Lobby which contains several objects to teach about AIDS and end at the AIDS Service foyer with a tour of the AIDS Quilt and the Reflections on AIDS Bulletn Board.

For those of you who are new to MOOing you might want to LOOK AT THE VARIOUS OBJECTS you find. If it says it has writing on it, you should READ OBJECT.

The following objects are located in the
SOCIAL WORK LOBBY (#639)

DR. A

An AIDS Educator who will try to answer your questions about safer sex and AIDS prevention. She smiles warmly at you and you sense that she will be honest in trying to answer your question. You notice she is wearing a red AIDS Awareness ribbon.

To start Dr.A...type   ACTIVATE DR.A

You see a red, laptop computer, with various controls on it.
        To select an item, type:                   Pick # onAIDS Gopher
        To go back up a level, type:            Pop AIDS Gopher

HIV_DISEASE_SPECTRUM

You see another of Danford's @detailed objects and it has information on it about HIV disease and its progression.  To access this information, just type @details on HIV-Disease_Spectrum (aka hds)' to get a list of the details and then type 'see <detail name>on HIV_Disease_Sprectrum' to read each of these descriptions.

The following objects are located in the
AIDS SERVICES FOYER (#1636)

AIDS Services Foyer

A vast cavernous room with long walls on which the DU section of the AIDS quilt hangs. There are big overstuffed chairs and sofas around and at any time of the day you may find people lounging here, sewing on panels for their lost loved ones.

To visit the quilt type: ENTER QUILT

AIDS QUILT

To enter the AIDS quilt and read the descriptions of the individual squ
 type 'enter quilt'. Once you are in the quilt, type MAP to see the virtual
 quilt before you.

To add a square to the quilt, '@create #11856 named <the name of the person for whom you are creating the square>', then @move your created square to the AIDS quilt, @go to your square, describe it, etc, and 'sew <north/south/east/west> to <name or # of another square>' so that people can  walk around between squares.
